FOR SALE!

It’s official! Our house is for sale. As a matter of fact we had our first viewing today. It was a little uncomfortable knowing that strangers were walking around our house, reviewing and judging our work. We have put so much time and effort into remodeling our home that it’s a little uneasy passing it on to someone else. Don’t misunderstand. We are not upset about leaving, not in the slightest. We are just a little sad and reminiscent. All the memories have been flooding into my heart these last few days. There is not much of the original design left inside these walls other than the one thing that I loved from the beginning, the built in bookshelves.

Our adventures within these walls began only but a week after we closed. It was a mere 7 days after New Year’s Day, 2006 when our master bathroom overflowed with sewage and turned our world upside down. But instead of becoming completely overwhelmed we rolled up our sleeves, took our insurance money and began the renovation that we dreamed of doing down the road. It took 6 months of living in our garage, literally, but our new house was amazing. We tore down walls, renovated bathrooms, built a brand new kitchen and constructed a 3 tier deck. We did all the work ourselves with help from my parents. It was exhausting and exhilarating. Best of all it was OURS!

Gabby has grown up in this house. She has had every birthday party here. She has gotten to know her sister, Chace in this house. They have many memories of birthdays and Christmases. We began to feel like a REAL family in this house. Between growing up into our adult selves and the sweat and tears we have put into it, this house has molded our souls. We are ready once again to roll up our sleeves and do the unimaginable and scary in order to reach our dreams.
